SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS, TORNADOS IN MINNESOTA OVERNIGHT26 MAY 16

Overnight severe weather moved through Brown, Nicollet and parts of Blue Earth County bringing strong winds, hail and heavy rain to some parts of the KNUJ listening area. Areas in New Ulm and Courtland received 2.19 inches of rain with three-quarter inch hail. Earlier in the day a tornado warning was in effect for parts of central Minnesota after radar indicated a possible tornado. Parts of Stearns and Todd Counties were under tornado warnings until 5:15 p.m. Wednesday evening. The National Weather Service says wind damage, one-inch hail and heavy rains were also reported with the storm system. There is no word if there was any major damage in the areas affected by the tornado warning.

Nos Estados Unidos, no Kansas, em 24 horas, 12 tornados fustigaram a região. A tempestade provocou cortes de eletricidade e danos ligeiros nalgumas casas. Ainda assim, as áreas mais atingidas eram zonas rurais, praticamente desabitadas.
