By Sunday, rain was expected to intensify and the forecast warned of swells, heavy seas and storm surges. Rivers could overflow and roads might be impassable.
On its forecast track, Amos is expected to pass across the south coast of Savai'i Island on Sunday, bringing torrential rain, damaging wind gusts and heavy seas.
